Eating food beneficial for your health does wonders! We believe strongly in the theory of look good, feel good.  So we did some research on foods to add to your daily diet that have crazy health benefits.  Benefits ranging from slowing down the aging process to controlling stress!

An Apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Apples are a huge source of antioxidants.  Antioxidants combat free radicals, which are damaging substances generated in your body.  These substances are known to cause undesirable changes involved in your aging process! (A TRUE NIGHTMARE) Some studies have even found that these antioxidants found in apples can possibly extend your lifespan.

LIKE D.R.A.M AND LIL YACHTY – ROLL UP THAT BROCCOLI!

After our research we found that Broccoli is actually incredible for the body! It’s rich in fiber, calcium, potassium, folate and phytonutrients.  If you’re anything like us the word “phytonutrients” means nothing to you.. but don’t worry we’ve got you covered.  Those “phytonutrients” are compounds that reduce heart disease, diabetes and some cancers.  A 100 gram serving of Broccoli provides you more than the daily dose of Vitamin C needed in your body, ultimately giving it the ability to shorten the duration of the common cold!  Last but not least Broccoli has ANOTHER beneficial ingredient, silforphane – this is said to have anti-cancer and anti- inflammatory qualities.  However, don’t over cook it or you’ll loose some of Broccoli’s finest benefits.

SOMETHING’S FISHY…

Fish came up a lot in our research about healthy foods.  Fish have provided substantial benefits for patients with inflammatory conditions, such as arthritis.  Eating fish provides you with Vitamin A and D, and the oils in fish provide benefits for both the heart and nervous system. AVO-CAN DO

Avocado’s got the vote for best beneficial food on our list.  If you’re like us and eat them daily, then you’re in luck because avocados-can-do just about anything! Studies show that regular avocado consumption lowers blood cholesterol levels.  It’s still up in the air but avocados recently have proved useful for treating diabetes or hypertension. Astonishingly, the nutrients found in avocados were able to stop oral cancer cells, and destroy pre-cancerous cells. A lot of people fear avocado’s for the amount of fat they carry… but for once, this fat is good fat.

YOUR FAVORITE SUMMERTIME SNACK

Not only is Watermelon refreshing and delicious, research shows it contains an amino acid called L-citrulline that improves blood flow.  Speaking of summertime… we know you’ve been working out right?! Getting that summer body! Well, strange but true: If you sip on watermelon juice before a sweaty workout session, it will help you steer clear of any post-workout soreness.
